Three Things Thursday!

Happy Thursday everyone! I’ve got a ton of stuff left to do tonight so this one is going to be short and sweet!

1. I’m 11 days into my 30 day Isagenix cleanse and I’m feeling awesome! I have had the occasional slip up, but for the most part, it has been pretty easy to stick to. Yesterday was cleanse day 2 and it was so much easier than my first cleanse day! I’m feeling healthier, fresher, lighter and leaner already! And I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I no longer hate the taste of the Ionix Supreme!

2. Tomorrow I am going to a meeting instead of work 🙂 I’m part of the organizing committee for the OFSAA Coaching Symposium, which is a conference held bi-annually for High School Teacher-Coaches across Ontario. I think this will be my 3rd year on the committee and I’m super excited to see my fellow committee members. I’m most excited to be car pooling with my friend Shannon – we used to work together and hang out quite a bit, but now that we have both switched schools and have young kids, we don’t get to see each other as often.

3. After my meeting tomorrow, I’m off for a weekend hockey tournament with my Corona Crusher girls! I have only played one game of pick-up hockey since going to this tournament last year, which was the first time I had played since having my son Tanner the previous January! Thankfully we don’t go for the hockey! Its all about hanging out, having fun, and getting a little exercise while we’re at it! My magic bullet is pack and ready to make my 2 smoothies a day, I have healthy snacks and hope to at least partially stick to my cleanse. The case of Corona I’ve also packed isn’t going to help with that, but hey, I’m not going to worry about it! Its a weekend away with my besties and I’m going to enjoy it! Here’s a picture of us last year – sweet uni’s eh?

Three Things Thursday!

1. Last night was our Corona Crushers Christmas get together and it was awesome! Since I’m not playing hockey this winter I don’t get to see these girls very often, so getting a chance to hang out last night was super special.

We had an awesome time, shared a ton of laughs and had the best ever “My Favourite Things” gift exchange. The idea was to bring a gift for each person (9 total) for under $10 bucks. So, after a little creative thinking, I shared with everyone two of my favourite things: Corona and chocolate covered marshmallow…YUM!

Seriously this was the BEST gift exchange I have ever been a part of. I loved everything!

2. Tonight I made Cookies in a Jar for the secretaries at work. I found the idea and recipe on Pinterest, you can find it here if you are interested. It took a little longer than I thought to make all 6 of them, but they turned out super cute, so it was all worth it!

3. I ran yesterday…for the first time in 3 weeks and only the second time since running the Niagara Half way back in October!

I’m still feeling the effects of my cold/chest infection, and would have preferred to rest for a few more days, but since Wednesdays are run days with my fitness class, I joined the girls for our weekly run.

We headed out to run the trails, the weather was perfect for running, sunny and +2. We did a new route, so I wasn’t exactly sure how far it would be, but in the end we ran 6.8km. I struggled thought
the entire run 😦 and had I been running alone, I guarantee you I would have quit about a hundred times! Luckily I had a running buddy who kept me going and we finished the run in 44 minutes.
Which works out to be a 6:28 km, definitely not breaking any speed records, but, I’m just glad I got back out there and ran!

Only 95.8 miles to go before February 28th to complete the Winter 100 Challenge!

The Bad. The Better. The Best.

The Bad.

Monday is weigh-in day for the Skinny Jeans Challenge. YIKES! This weekend I consumed WAY TOO CALORIES! Although I didn’t actually eat too bad, I pretty much drank a whole case of Corona…maybe even a bit more!

The Better.

Although nowhere near caloric balance, I at least did a bit of exercise this weekend a burned a few calories.

Friday morning before my personal training session, I hopped on the treadmill and did this weeks ‘long run’ – a race pace 5k – and to my surprise, I did it in only 28 minutes 🙂

Right after that I had my training session where we did another new workout. This weeks focus was supersets. After a quick warm-up, we did 3 sets of each superset: Belgian split squats and push-ups, bent over rows and deadlifts, and double crunches and plank pull-ins. We finished up with a cardio blast and called it a day!

I also played a game of hockey Friday night and two on Saturday, which, again, didn’t burn many calories, it was at least exercise!

And lastly, in keeping with my 100 push-up challenge, I did workout 3 of week 1 (a total of 42 push ups) on Saturday afternoon. The best part was that my roomies did the workout with me 🙂 – which is kinda funny because I totally thought these girls would have been more likely to make fun of me, rather than join in! It’s a good thing no one else came by, they would have for sure made fun of us!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A total calorie burn of only 903 calories all weekend. I guess it’s better than nothing!

The Best.

This weekend was awesome! I had so much fun hanging with my best girlfriends and playing some hockey, that the extra 2.2 pounds and lack of sleep was totally worth it! All I can say is, thank God we only do this once a year!!!
